If a conservative is homosexual, they quietly enjoy their life. If a liberal is homosexual, they loudly demand legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic is conservative, they see themselves as independently successful. Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church. A liberal wants any mention of God or religion silenced.

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that his neighbors pay for his."

STROKE

It was the first of July, I had retired from Mingo county(will miss the kids & teachers, but not being away from my family), would be home to help my mom(after her dogs were put to sleep this past year)my youngest son was back in town & going to be around until the end of the year(so all my kids would be here), I was going to do telemarketing and get serious about selling Usborne books, that way I'd have money during the summer, then get on the sub list in surrounding counties,as well as Harrison, and some state ran schools. Would be home to see my grandaughters soccer games, could do more for my church, and would have some time to concentrate on my House of Delegates campaign. Was going to family get together on the 4th & Tea Party on the 5th. Life was good.
Then driving home from picking my son up so we could go to see OKLAHOMA that nite felt like I was starting to have mini-stroke, but it went away. Then when we got home started feeling funny had trouble with my right side moving, but thought it would go away. Had my son drive to the play. Still was having touble, felt uncomfortable while watching the play, although the play was a very good. Everyone did a good job. Did not want to tell any one, thought it would go away. Got home, couldn't sleep. That morning went to hospital, I had had a stroke. Life for me stopped.
How was I going to pay my bills, how much and how long would I be laid up, how could I get around. I was worried. Anyone that knows me knows that I usuaully don't usually worry(probably because me mom worries all the time). But this time I was.
Well thanks to my kids & their spouses and several other people things have improved a lot. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Fortunately my stroke wasn't as bad as it could be also I have been doing my physical therapy & exercises at home(although I have to pick my exercise up a notch)and walking in the water.
I would however like to use my circumstance to try & help some people. First anyone out there overweigth, LOSE WEIGHT NOW. Many of you I know who are young. When I was in high school I only weighed 210 and thought I was fat, If I weighed that now(which I will get down to)peolple would think I was anorexic. Some of you are that age and weigh a lot more.. It's easier to lose now than to wait till you are my age and have to.
The other thing and the most important is, whenever you make a decison Pray about it & seek wise counsel. While not directly contributing to my stroke, I feel God used my stroke as a way to get my attention. I'm not going to go into detail, but there are certain decisions I made that I didn't do either. Since my stroke I have starting to try to do more towards finding God's will.
He has already blessed me. I am not doing it for that reason, but it shows if you will do what HE wants, that he will take care of you.
So for everyone out there first find out what God wants you to do. Second before you make a decision Pray about it & seek wise counsel. Third if you are overweight LOSE IT NOW.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO PASS, IF ELECTED.

I believe we should lower or eliminate most taxes, such as 1)tax on inventory & equipment for businesses, 2)lower gas taxes, 3)eliminate sales tax on food,4) eliminate tax on SSI for Seniors & Military pay. The Dems will say if you lower taxes you will lose revenue, however, every state in the United States that have lowered taxes revenue has increased. If lower or eliminate these taxes we will increase money into the economy, thus creating more jobs & encouraging business to move into the state.
I would also work for and promote Pro-Life and Pro-Family agendas.
I would work for Term Limits & Non-Partisan election of Judges.
I would work to raise the property tax exemption for Seniors to $40,000.
If you have any questions feel free to call me at 304-629-6943.

GIVE WV HOMESCHOOL STUDENTS THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TIM TEBOW HAD

Something overlooked in all the brouhaha about Tim Tebow's Super Bowl add, is the fact that he was home schooled & because Florida's law allows homeschooled students to play for the school in their district, he was able to play football. Now I don't know all the nuances of the Florida law, but if they can do it I would think West Virginia could.
A few years ago there was a court ruling that allowed this to happen, but the WVSSAC appealed it and won, so it was overturned. Now I can see both sides of the arguement. When this case was being tried there was much emotion on both sides. I am not going to get into all the arguements but the one I felt was the most important & that made sense from the WVSSAC side, was that it would be an easy way, if an athlete had grade problems, to take advantage of this system. Now granted the majority of the ones probably wouldn't abuse it, but there would be some.
A solution I think would be that the homeschool parent would be responsible for contacting the school, the student would be playing athletics anyway, and arrange for the student to take tests adminstered by the teacher of the class the student would take anyway.
Being a teacher, parent & a former coach, I realize this is oversimplified, but I'm sure the bugs could be worked out. Also WV could contact Florida officials to see how they did it. please feel free to post any comments

WHY THE CLASS WARFARE

I have trouble understanding why so many people want to tax "the Rich". Rich people can only do 2 things with their money, spend it or save it. If they spend it that creates more jobs. If they save it, unless they put it in a matress or can, that creates more jobs, because it either gives banks more money to loan to businesses, which enables them to expand. If they save it by investing that also helps business expand. Now they can also give it away, which would go under spending.
So why do so many people want to tax the rich. The more money the government takes from them in taxes, is less that they can, spend or save.
Another thing that bothers me is people complain about Bush's tax cuts only helping the "Rich". Well if you make more money its natural that your going to get more in a tax cut. And if you don't pay taxes your not going to get a tax cut.
If someone can explain that please let me know

THIS AINT YOUR PARENTS DEMOCRAT PARTY

A few months ago I posted about how this isn't your parents Democrat Party. Well since last nights results in Massachusettes I feel the need to update that post.
The Dems need to open their eyes. If a Republican can win in Massachusettes, that is so blue that it makes California look like a Republican heaven, it shows how out of touch this administration is. While they did elect Romney for Governor a few years & have a few Republicans in their Congress they have not went for a Republican since Reagan.
I feel this shows how out of touch with the average voter the Dems leadership is. While I was no fan of Clintons & I felt he governed by polls to much, he was smart enough to see when to give up or change his view, when the people were overwhelmingly against him.
Now look at us in West Virginia, during the last election Hilary carried West Virginia, but guess who are Dem leaders endorsed, some even before the primary, they endorsed Obama. Hilary carried the state by a landslide. Then during the general they again supported Obama & West Virginia went for McCain.
Even our local Dem leaders have bought into the Obama hype. A few months ago there was a protest in front of Mollohan's office, in Clarksburg against OBAMACARE, there was also a rally in support of it in front of the Dem HQ, where were Harrison County's congressional delegation not in front of Mollohans office protesting, most if not all were at the Dem HQ.
As I said earlier if you support abotion, continued tax increases, business leaving WV, the President holding secret meetings, legally bribing Congressional leaders, raming legislation thru when the large majority of Americans oppose it, the federal government taking over 1/7 of the economy, continued attacks on coal, then continue to support the Dems. But if you are for openeness, lower taxes, right to life, free enterprise & personal responsibilibty then come over to the party that is truly for the people ---the Republicans.
GOD BLESS
BUDDY

NON-PARTISAN ELECTION OF JUDGES

This is an item I feel is important, but does not receive a lot of publicity. Currently we elect our Judges by a partisan election like every other office. There have been several studies that show that we should change the method. Currently our legislsature is trying to improve the system, by public funding of judicial elections &/or limits on spending. This will only help incumbents & the rich, because we cannot put a limit on how much a candidate spends of their own money. So that method would be no good.
By non-partisan elections it would be soley based on their record or at least what the voters perceive as their record. It would also break up some straight ticket voting.
I believe it is something we need to pursue.
